BYC members participate actively in Cruiser Navigation Contests sanctioned by the International Power Boat Association and other bodies. These contests are sponsored by various yacht clubs around Puget Sound, and are an excellent way to hone your navigation skills and to meet members from other clubs. Each February BYC sponsors Heavy Weather, which is one of the largest navigation contests on the West Coast. Come out and join us!
BYC has sponsored the Blake Island Sailboat Race for 49 consecutive years. The Blake Island Race is held every year in early June. The BI Race is one of seven sailboat races in the West Sound Sailing Association Trophy Series. The course starts off Manette, through Rich Passage , around Blake Island (either direction) and back through Rich Passage to finish at the start line.
